Poodle Obedience Training

Poodle training can be simple when you have all of the best information and tips. Poodle puppies bond strongly with their new families and can make great companion dogs. Poodles have been used in the past as truffle and game hunting dogs as well as retrievers, (even as water retrievers). You probably already know whether your Poodle is going to be a working or show dog. If they are, then you will need to conduct additional Poodle training that is show and/or work specific. If your Poodle is still a puppy, or a naughty adult dog, you may also want to start with Poodle obedience training.

Smarter than the majority of other breeds, Poodles are relatively easier to train. Basic Poodle training can usually be done pretty quickly. A quick reminder: when training Poodles, be aware that they are often a great deal more sensitive than many other breeds. Because they are so intelligent and sensitive, Poodles are prone to distress behaviors. If you become stressed or irritated while you are training your Poodle, take a self-imposed time out to avoid upsetting your dog. Unfortunately, when Poodles become upset, they may show negative behaviors like vomiting or urinating. Proper Poodle obedience training will be sensitive to the special needs and personality of the breed
