Dog Training and Obedience- Advantages to You and Your Puppy.

It isn’t easy to train your puppy, but if you want your life with the dog to be happy, he needs to be trained. Dogs that are not trained might becoming annoying for you and your family and unmanageable, which will cause you a lot of stress and may result in you finding a new home for your dog.

The willingness to properly train your dog in obedience is key. It is also your responsibility. You should not wait until your dog begins to act up before you begin his training. Rather, the training should start as soon as the dog is introduced into your house. To have a well-trained dog you can be proud of, commit to a plan and a schedule. Develop a routine. Don’t give up because the going gets tough or you lose patience.

Both your pet and your family will derive several advantages as a result of appropriate dog training and obedience. It will be a pleasure spending time with your dog.  A dog left untrained in obedience will display behaviors you won’t like. These include but are not limited to: barking, biting, chewing, digging and running off or escaping.

Allowing a dog to behave badly by not training him, reflects on you. You may begin to dislike the animal which could perpetuate more behavior problems. The situation may escalate quickly, causing you and your family distress that is avoidable. A dog that digs your flowers up, chews on your furniture, and disappears up the street at every opportunity is just not a satisfactory pet. The final result of improper training and a disobedient pet may be that the owner decides to give the dog away rather than continue to deal with its misbehavior.

By failing to train your dog you do him a great disservice. Give your dog the tools he needs to become an obedient, well-trained member of the family. But there are several other gains for the dog if he has the advantage of timely and correct training. He avoids the difficulties and predicaments and the chances of injury or death that an untrained dog has.

A dog that darts out of the yard every time he gets loose runs the danger of being struck by a vehicle. Also, if they run away they may get lost and not be able to get back home, resulting in them becoming malnourished and possibly starving. There is also the possibility that the dog will be caught by the dogcatcher and put to sleep.

There are other bad things that may happen if you do not give your dog the training he needs. Dogs should be given only safe toys and treats. Chewing is not only destructive but can be hazardous to a dog. As stated earlier, dogs are curious by nature. They are drawn to things that could be poisonous or fatal. Since a dog may eat just about anything, a blockage in the intestine is not only likely, but a matter of great concern.

There are numerous other beneficial results of proper dog training and obedience, both to dog and master, too many to list here. But, you should now see that training your dog is very important and will create a better life for both of you in the long run.
