A lot of dog owners live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It seems like everywhere you go someone has their pooch with them. But if you need to go somewhere without your Fifi, you may need to make an arrangement for dog daycare. Canine owners have many options.
There are quite a variety of good dog daycare possibilities in Ann Arbor. It seems like there are doggie lovers everywhere in Ann Arbor and many of these people have turned their passion for dogs into a dog focused business.
If you only need daycare, that is, for one day at a time and no overnight required, here are three options available in Ann Arbor and the surrounding areas that might work well for you and your furry companion.
1. Get a Dog Walker. A dog walker will stop by once or twice per day to take your best friend on a walk in the neighborhood. You can find advertisements for dog walkers in the AnnArbor.Craigslist.org in the community section under pets. Set a search for “dog walk” and search the entire post. You will likely find several people interested in talking Fido for a walk.
There are pet service advertisements in the A2Journal, a relatively new local paper that comes out every Thursday and is delivered to Ann Arbor residents for free. Or see which dogs are being walked in the neighborhoods and ask the dog walkers for their name and number.
2. Professional Dog Boarding. You can take your pet to a local boarding facility for the day and she will have his own crate or area to stay in. Some facilities offer a pick and drop off service so you don’t have to drop Fifi off on the way to work.
You can schedule daily service or maybe just one day per week. Find out what your puppy will be doing for the day and see if that makes sense for your pet.
3. Have Your Dog Stay With A Dog Sitter. This option is a little more like being at home. Your family pet would stay with a family or a person and have the option of hanging out in the house with the rest of their family.
Costs for this type of service will vary depending on who’s doing the sitting; a family or a person more serious about it as a business. Your canine may have more play time in this kind of situation if you find a great provider.
Whatever option you choose, you will want to have your companion up to date with all her vaccinations. Every licensed dog care business will require this. Plus, you want your dog protected against any diseases she may encounter from other dogs.
